Literature Summary THE PROMISE OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP AS A FIELD OF RESEARCH 1.0 Introduction To date, the phenomenon of entrepreneurship has lacked a conceptual framework. A research has been conducted in the difference social science disciplines and applied fields of business to create a conceptual framework for entrepreneurship. 2.0 Definition of Entrepreneurship Entrepreneurship is defined solely by the researchers in terms of who the entrepreneur is and what he or she does. Factor markets mean discovery of new materials. Within product market entrepreneurship, there are three categories of opportunities: 1) the creation of new information, as occurs with the invention of new technologies. 2) The exploitation of market inefficiencies. 3) The reaction to shifts of alternative uses for resources. 4.2 The Discovery of Entrepreneurial Opportunities Entrepreneurial opportunities are not always obvious to everyone all the time. An individual can earn profits only if he or she recognizes that the opportunity exists and has value. There are two factors people will discover particular opportunities. Firstly are information corridors. An entrepreneur has to have prior and new information to exploit profitable opportunities. This information might be about user needs or specific aspects of the production function. The development of internet is a good example providing information needed. Second factor is cognitive properties. A successful entrepreneur is able to combine existing concepts and information into new ideas. They are willing to take risks and less likely to engage in counterfactual thinking. 4.3 The Decision to Exploit Entrepreneurial Opportunities The characteristics of opportunities themselvesShow MoreRelatedImportance Of Entrepreneurship During The 21st Century Essay1572 Words   |  7 Pages IMPORTANCE OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP In the last two decades, the citizen sector has discovered what the industry learned long ago: Nothing is as powerful as a new idea in the hands of a first-class businessman. Those within the Muslim faith practice it with their own unique interpretation. Despite the different interpretations, there is a set of guidelines for moral instruction that is central to all. A person truly becomes a Muslim when he/she recites this creed, and truly believes it in their heart. This message is found within the Muslim faith, and is recited daily. It can also be found written within mo sques and homes as well. The second pillar is prayer. Devout Muslims pray five times a day. Once at dawn, midday, mid-afternoon, sunset and nighttime. The prayer process for Muslims is extremely sacred and done ritually. The prayers are called together by a â€Å"muezzin† from atop a tower called a minaret. Another ritual involved in Muslim prayer includes a purification process with water or sand, where the believer cleanses their hands, arms, face, neck and feet before beginning. Ryan A. Hittle Essay Example For Students

Ryan A. Hittle Essay Per. 2 April 7, 2003Dear James,How are things at home? Im hoping everything is going O.K. Ikeep thinking of what it must be like back at home and how things havechanged. It must be very difficult for my family to think of me being outhere. I can not imagine what they are feeling and all I ask from you isthat you keep watch over them, for me, if you could. You cant imagine the horrors I go through everyday. Horrors noman should ever have to face in this life time or any other for thatmatter. I have to stay in this god forsaken trench all day and night withalmost no sleep and if I do its a light sleep for fear of an enemy sneakattack on the trench or the never ceasing sound of shelling of no mansland. There is almost no food here and some of the men have even startedkilling the rats that infest our trenches and eating them for food. I havenot sunk to that level yet but Im not sure how much longer I can gowithout something to eat. I write this letter today with fear that I could die any dayjust as easy as that. I fear every single day that a bomb could land nextto me and end my life or that if I become a little too careless one day andstick my head up a little to far over the trenchs edge that a sniper willtake my life without even so much as blinking an eye at the thought of it. There are many things that have compiled my fear. For instance we wereunder heavy artillery fire three days ago when one of the squad members, who was also a friend of mine, was killed by a shell no less then fiftyfeet from me. And what did they do about his dead body? Nothing! They lethim lay there like he was nobody. So yesterday I took out my shovel andgave him a proper burial or as best as I could given the current situation. And this doesnt just happen to me there are bodies everywhere that no onecares about and just leaves to rot in the mud. They just dont realize thateveryone out here is someones son, brother, or husband. I guess I should get back to my post now. I will write againsoon. Keep everyones head up and pray for me and know that I will be homesoon. Send my love to everyone back home. Sincerely,

Comparing and Contrasting God and the Devil

Comparing and Contrasting God and the Devil Free Online Research Papers Many people would never consciously see that God and the Devil are the same as well as different. In this essay I will compare and contrast how they are alike and different. I will show the role they each have in the world, the objectives they each have, and the tools and methods they each use in order to accomplish this. God and the Devil have a lot of similarities but play very distinctive roles in the world. They each have a role that they play in the world with their own objectives and their own methods and tools for achieving their objectives. Lets begin by looking at the roles they each play. Both God and the Devil are out to rule the world and are both in charge of their own kingdoms. Another role they both play in the world is that they are both fighting to win the souls of humans. Even though they both show similarities in their roles that they play in the world, one major difference between the two is the fact that God represents the good of the world while the Devil represents the evil in the world. This brings us to the objectives that they each have. Once again they both have similar objectives, but they are very different at the same time. Gods objective is to bring the world peace. He wants us all to be happy and to live wonderful lifes. God wants nothing more than for us to spend eternity with Him. Just like God, the Devil would love nothing more than for us to spend eternity with Him in Hell. In order to accomplish this goal, the Devil must come across to the world as a good and pleasant being. However, it is told to most, if we choose to follow him it will lead to chaos and confusion. Of course, in order to be able to achieve these objectives both must have certain methods and tools they use in order to achieve their goals. God has the Bible along with prayer for the world to be able to speak to him and learn what he wants from us. God performs miracles and creates beautiful things for us to look at in an attempt to make humans believe in Him. The Devil uses the same tactics to a degree. The Devil has his own Bible as well. Just like Gods bible teaches the world how to be like him, and what He expect from them, the Devils Bible teaches the world what He expects and how to be more like Him. The Devil also uses temptation and things that are appealing to the flesh in an attempt to make the world spend eternity with Him in Hell. This topic is very controversial in todays world. Even though most people have never consciously thought of God and the Devil being anything alike, after reading this essay there is no chose but to see that in some ways they do have several things in common. During this essay it has been pointed out the role that the God and the Devil both play in the world, the objectives that they both have, and the different tools and methods they both use in order to achieve what they are after. Jesus and Kingdom of God - Assignment Example In order to develop a better understanding, it may be suitable to analyze some of the Beatitudes. Thus, in Matthew chapter 5 verse 8 it was pointed out that those who are â€Å"pure in heart† will enter the Kingdom of Heaver. It is quite obvious that the above mentioned concept is synonymous to ethical decision making. Another concept which is analyzed in the next verse, namely peacemaking, reflects the ethical principle of refraining from violence and avoiding conflict between people. There is no doubt that this contributes to harmony in the world and is greatly values by Christianity. Finally, the high significance of mercy is states in the previous verse. As one can easily see, the idea of Kingdom of God stands for an environment of moral individuals who exercise highest ethical values such as refraining from violence or mercy on other people.
